Arvie Tice-Buchanan Obituary

Arvie Mae Tice-Buchanan was born on February 21, 1928 in Hugo,Oklahoma to James Napolean and Kate (Moreland) Tice. She passed from this life on October 20, 2018 in Hugo, Oklahoma at the age of 90 years.

Arvie was blessed with four beautiful children. After taking time off from getting an education to raise her children, she returned to Hugo High School and received her high school diploma at the age of 29. She made all A's except for one B while taking care of her home and family.

Arvie's favorite color was purple. The color purple means ambition, creativity, wisdom, devotion and independence. All of these are a wonderful representation of her life.

She was a very loving mother, wonderful cook, seamstress, and had a passionate interest in genealogy. Arvie worked as a legal secretary for James Bounds prior to his death. She was a life long resident of Hugo,Oklahoma. She attended the Church of Christ.

Arvie had great faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. As Philippians 4:19 states: "But my God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." This scripture proved to be true in her life. A reflection of her life from the beginning to her last breath was as in II Timothy 4:7-8: "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day; and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing."

Arvie was preceded in death by her parents: James Napolean and Kate (Moreland) Tice; twin brother: Aubrey Ray Tice; other brothers: James N. Tice, Loyd Todd, Bonnie Tice, Ernest Tice, and Roy Tice; sister: Dora Jean Bates; grandchild: Randall Gene Buchanan;great grandchildren: Benjamin Lee Buchanan, Kaitlyn Hope Buchanan

Arvie is survived her four children: daughter: Linda Jones and husband Bob; son: Steve Buchanan and wife Beverly; daughter: Susan Buchanan-Norris; and son: Roger Buchanan and wife Donna. She is also survived by the lights of her life, her nine grandchildren: Stephen Ray Forbus, Tammy Jones-Ryeczyk, Terry Jones, Tim Jones, Grant Buchanan, Nikki Buchanan-Cantu, Amanda Norris-Moore, Jeremy Buchanan, and R.J. Norris. Also a special blessing to Arvie (also known as Mammaw) was her 15 great-grandchildren; along with many other relatives and a host of friends.
