Billy Jack Barnett

Billy Jack Barnett, 76, passed from this life on October 21, 2019 in Antlers, Oklahoma. He was born July 19, 1943 to William Thomas (Bill) Barnett and Viola (Smith) Barnett in Hugo, Oklahoma. He was a lifetime resident of Southeast Oklahoma.

Billy Jack married his wife Carol (Beller) Barnett in Hugo on December 9, 1971. He spent his career as a teacher at Antlers Public Schools. He made an impression on his students with his many wonderful stories. When Billy Jack wasn't teaching or telling stories, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding horses.

He is preceded in death by his parents: William and Viola Barnett; brother: Barney Barnett; and granddaughter Samantha Smith.

Billy Jack is survived by his wife: Carol Barnett of the home; children: Billy Alan Barnett and wife Debbie of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Don Barnett of Durant, Oklahoma, Shawn Barnett and wife Amy of Antlers, Oklahoma, and Shane Barnett of Eufaula, Oklahoma; grandchildren: Lauren, Elyse, Sarah, Rachel, Brylee, Kobee, Lexi, Keely, Sidnee, Broc, Bryce, Morgen, and Hailey; and great-grandchildren: Jaxson, Jameson, Jagger, Spencer, Braxton, Noah, Tucker, Molly, as well as a host of other friends and family.

Family night for Billy Jack will be Wednesday 6-7PM at the Serenity Funeral Service.

Funeral service will be held 2PM Thursday October 24, 2019 at Victory Assembly of God in Rattan, Oklahoma. Interment to follow at Belzoni Cemetery.
