Clara Mae (Potts) Flatt

Clara Mae Flatt passed from this life on September 27, 2018 in Antlers, Oklahoma. She was born June 15, 1943 in Talihina, Oklahoma to Horace and Clara Belle (Andrews) Potts.

Clara married Homer Flatt in Irving, TX on February 24, 1972. She was a beloved member of the Antlers community for over 40 years. She loved animals, especially horses, worked at Mayes Home Health, and was a beautician for most of her life. She also enjoyed helping out at the VFW with Homer in their younger years.

Clara is preceded in death by her parents: Horace and Clara Potts; husband: Homer Flatt; sisters: Pauline Adams, Charlene Chapman, and Edith Potts; and brothers: Haskell Sweargen, Gene Sweargen, Jack Sweargen, J.D. Sweargen, and Jewett Potts.

She is survived by her daughter: Loretha Sweetin and husband Jeff of Ashland, OK; son: Donnie Flatt and wife Gloria of Antlers, OK; brother: Mark Potts and wife Connie of Clayton, OK; grandchildren: Brent Shores and wife Lezlie of Stuart, OK, Michael Shores and wife Tanya of Ashland, OK, Dustin Hall of Ashland, OK, Richard Flatt of Antlers, OK, J.R. Flatt of Antlers, OK, Frankie Flatt of Antlers, OK, and Clara Jean Flatt of Antlers, OK; great- grandchildren: Cole Shores of Stuart, OK, Stormie Shores of Stuart, OK, and Sammie Shores of Ashland, OK; along with numerous other relatives and friends. She is also survived by Lisa Williams, a special friend and caregiver for 14 years.

Clara will be laid to rest Sunday, September 30, 2018 at 3:00 PM in Hall Cemetery with Pastor Joyce Luman.
