Dennis Bates

Dennis Brian Bates went to be with the Lord March 23, 2019, in Denison, TX, at the age of 75. He was born July 2, 1943, to Clarence Allie and Juanita Estelline (Hamlin) Bates, in Hugo, OK. Dennis married Vicki (Washburn) January 4, 1994, in Hot Springs, AR, and they were blessed with twenty-five years together.

Dennis was a devoted man of God and the spiritual leader of his family. He enjoyed riding horses and squirrel hunting. Dennis took great pride in his ranch and really liked to work his cattle. He took any opportunity to teach his children and grandchildren a life lesson, even if it meant using a cow to do so. He was a morning person and cherished his coffee time with Vicki. He always delighted in being outdoors. In his earlier days, he enjoyed coon hunting with his dogs. Above all else, Dennis loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his father: Clarence Allie Bates; mother: Juanita Estelline Bates; and granddaughter: Shae Lauren Brackett.

Dennis is survived by his wife of the home: Vicki Lynn Bates; children: Bart Bates of Antlers, OK, Brian Bates of Antlers, OK, Brent Bates and wife Tarah of Oklahoma City, OK; Jana Ayers and husband Jessie of Antlers, OK and Jacy Ayers and husband Daniel of Antlers, OK; brother: John Bates of Rattan, OK; sister: LoEtta Reavis and husband Hooker of Farmersville, TX; grandchildren: Dustin Bates of Hugo, OK, Brady Bates of Oklahoma City, OK, Landon Bates of Frisco, TX, Stratton Bates of Oklahoma City, OK, Jaley Ayers of Antlers, OK, Josiah Ayers of Antlers, OK and Jonah Ayers of Antlers, OK; great-grandchildren: Kale Bates, Kole Bates and Kendal Bates; along with numerous other family and friends.

Funeral services for Dennis will be 2 PM Saturday March 30, 2019 at the Serenity Funeral Service Chapel in Antlers, Oklahoma.
