Gary Gene Hill

Gary Gene Hill, 74, passed peacefully from this life surrounded by his loving family on April 16, 2019, in Finley, Oklahoma. He was born April 18, 1944, to J.E. and Gertrude (Taylor) Hill in Antlers, Oklahoma.

Gary married Shyrl (Robbins) Hill on January 9, 1979, in Paris, Texas. He enjoyed being a rancher, feeding his cows, riding horses, gathering cattle, roping, and reading. Most of all, he enjoyed his family, living in the mountains, and the freedom it brought. Gary was a resident for 74 years and a faithful member of the One Creek Valley Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents: J.E. and Gertrude Hill; grandparents: Stuart and Beulah Taylor, and Jim and Dona Hill; sister: Donna Brame; and daughter: Gena Hill.

Gary is survived by his wife: Shyrl Hill of the home; daughter: April Hill Leathers and husband Clint of Rattan, Oklahoma; sons: Duston Hill and wife Jennifer of Antlers, Oklahoma, Gary Hill Jr. and wife Jenny Dawn of Antlers, Oklahoma, Brock Hill and wife Jayla of Rattan, Oklahoma, and Buck Hill and wife Nicole of Antlers, Oklahoma; brother: Bill Hill and wife Anna Vee of Antlers, Oklahoma; grandchildren: Marlie, Landon, Bailyn, Sadie, Jaxon, Jaycus, Jake, Jett, Arlis, Eden, Will, Haze, and Hank, along with many other relatives and a host of friends.

Gary's pallbearers are: J.J. Hatcher, Nick Rowland, Steve Painter, Jon Paul Smith, Toby Teel, Aaron Noel, Shane Miller, Ellis Thurman, Justin Clark, and Tripp Johnson. Honorary: Ted Glover, Ronnie Teel, Dale Johnson, Hal Brame, Ben Jordan, Bruce Hammons, Billy Caraway, Jerry Williams, Henry Watson, Gaylon Branton, Will Erwin, Jerry Hughes, and Matt Thompson.

Services for Gary will be held Saturday, April 20 at 11:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Antlers. The church will also host a family night on Friday, April 19 from 6-8 PM.

Services have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Service of Antlers, Oklahoma.
