James "Hollis" Young

James "Hollis" Young, 85, passed from this life June 2, 2019 in Cloudy, Oklahoma. Hollis was born August 9, 1933 to Idis and Lucille Young in Spencerville, Oklahoma.

Hollis married Ima Jean Wheeler June 8, 1955 in Springfield, Tennessee. He served in the United Sates Army as a sergeant with 101st Airborne. Hollis worked as a bricklayer for 10 years and Kerr Mcgee for 18 years. He has been in the community for 46 years, and attended Cloudy Baptist Church.

Hollis is preceded in death by his parents: Idis and Lucille Young; brother: Carroll Young; and sister: Colleen Refro.

Hollis is survived by his wife: Ima Jean of Cloudy, Oklahoma; children: James Young of Cloudy, Oklahoma, Rita Cogburn and husband Don of Rattan, Oklahoma, Wayne Young and wife Charlene of Cloudy, Oklahoma, and Lorri Critchlow and husband Sonny of Rattan, Oklahoma; sister: Maxine Songer of Norman, Oklahoma; along with many other relatives and a host of friends.

Pallbearers include: Jerry "JJ" Jones, Don Cogburn, Jimmy Joe Melton, Nathan Jeffreys, Austin Lyle, and Twister Holder.

Honorary pallbearers include: Sonny Critchlow and Roger Buchanan

Funeral Services will be 2PM Thursday, June 6, 2019 at Cloudy Baptist Church in Cloudy, Oklahoma with pastor Luther Roden officiating. Interment will follow at Cloudy Cemetery in Cloudy, Oklahoma. There will also be a memorial service held at the Serenity Funeral Service Chapel at 5:00 PM Thursday, June 6, with Doug West officiating.
