Larry George Grant, 75, passed from this life Wednesday, July 25, 2018, in Dallas, Texas. He was born February 14, 1943, in Antioch, California, to Ules and Mattie (Prescott) Grant.
After high school, Larry joined and served honorably in the U.S. Navy from 1965-1969. After his service he received his undergraduate degree from East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma. While living in Ada, Larry married Annette Phillips March 21, 1973 in Sulphur, Oklahoma and they were married 45 years. Larry then graduated with his law degree from Oklahoma City University in 1978. After graduation Larry served as the Assistant District Attorney for Coal County, the District Attorney for Bryan County and the Assistant District Attorney for Pushmataha, Choctaw and McCurtain Counties. Larry enjoyed riding motorcycles and doing carpentry in his spare time. He always took pride in everything he made. In his younger years he liked hunting and fishing. Most of all Larry enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
Larry is preceded in death by his mother: Mattie Geraldine Weeks, step-father: Gene Weeks; father: Ules Grant; step-mother: Lois Grant; brother: Lynn Weeks; and sister: Vickie Lou Weeks.
He is survived by his loving wife of the home: Annette Grant; son: Allen Stark and wife Sara of Bethel Acres, Oklahoma; daughters: Leslie Wilson and husband James of Aiken, South Carolina, Jennifer Morgan and husband Zack of Moyers, Oklahoma, and Jessica Grant of Tulsa, Oklahoma; grandchildren: Brooke, Hunter, David, Trace, Seth Sawyer, Abby, Will, and Gage; great-grandchildren: Xander, Xaia, Xarie, and Isla; brothers: Cary Grant and wife Lynn of Tyler, Texas, Jim Grant of Ada, Oklahoma, and Douglas Grant and wife Ina of Ada, Oklahoma; and sister: Laveta Raynes and husband Richard of Lyndel, Texas; along with many other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will include: Allen Stark, Trace Stark, David Stark, Hunter Wilson, James Wilson and Zach Morgan.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Jim Branham and Marion Akins.
Funeral services for Larry will be held 2 PM Monday, July 30, 2018, at First Assembly of God Church in Antlers, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at Kosoma Cemetery in Kosoma, Oklahoma.
Family night will be held Sunday, from 2 pm-4pm, at First Assembly of God Church in Antlers, Oklahoma.
Funeral services are entrusted with Serenity Funeral Service in Antlers, Oklahoma.
