Larry Waymon Nelson

Larry Waymon Nelson, 74, went to be with the Lord July 15, 2019 at his home in Antlers with his family by his side. Larry was born September 8, 1944 to Frances and Lorene (Payne) Nelson in Kellond, Oklahoma.

Larry married Barbara Womack in 1965 and together they had Paul and Amy, who were the light of his life. Larry loved God with all of his heart. He cherished his family and enjoyed many deep and meaningful friendships. On September 23, 1985, Larry married Diane Spence and they have shared the last 33 years together. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, tinkering, gardening, and helping others in any way possible. Larry was a member of the Sportsman Club, a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Antlers where he served as deacon, served on the Antlers School Board for many years, a life long resident of Antlers, and served in the United States Army. He worked as a Contractor/Carpenter with his brother, Terry, for 43 years as Nelson Brother's Construction.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Frances and Lorene Nelson; grandparents: Homer and Nellie Payne, and Oscar and Daisy Nelson.

Larry is survived by his wife: Diane Nelson of the home; children: Paul Nelson and wife Angela and Amy Gay and husband Chris; brother: Terry Nelson and wife Arline; sister: Carolyn Manous and husband Fred; grandchildren: Griffin Nelson, Spencer Nelson, Chloe Gay, Decklin Gay, Caitlin Chaney, Weston Beatty, and Zane Beatty; along with many other relatives and a host of friends.

In lieu of flowers the family asked that donations be made to the First Assembly of God kitchen remodel fund, his next project.

Family night will be held 6-8PM, Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at Serenity Funeral Service in Antlers, Oklahoma.

Funeral services will be held 2PM, Thursday, July 18,2019 at First Assembly Of God in Antlers, Oklahoma.
