May Nelson Obituary

May "Granny" Ruth Nelson, 81, went to be with the Lord December 5, 2018, in Antlers, Oklahoma. She was born August 10, 1937, in Antlers, Oklahoma, to Rosie Rosella Mann.

Ruth was a member of the New Life Apostolic Pentecostal Church and loved talking to Jesus. She had many friends, and never met a stranger. Ruth enjoyed reading her bible, cooking for her family, fishing with Elwood, gardening, canning, watching her hummingbirds and spoiling Buddy, her baby. Most of all she delighted in spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her first husband: "Buddy" Neese; daughter: Cindy Ann Weathers Rosson; sisters: Pauline Allen and Lois Mann; and brothers: Maxie Mann, Lonzo Mann, Lonnie Mann and Eddie Mann.

Ruth is survived by her husband: Elwood Nelson of the home; children: David Neese of Antlers, Oklahoma, Stephen Neese of Antlers, Oklahoma, Peggy Amos and husband John of Camas Valley, Oregon, Bonnie Neese of the home and Tessa Brown of Rosenberg, Texas; grandchildren raised as her own: Ami Standridge of Antlers, Oklahoma and Jarod Neese and wife Jennifer of Midwest City, Oklahoma; grandchildren: Daniel Amos, Jason Neese, Justin Weathers, Megan Weathers, Cody Neese, Kirbie Rovolis, Kylie Brown, Kaitlan Lopez and James Brown; many great grandchildren; special friend: JoAnn Sappington; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers include: David Neese, Stephen Neese, Jason Neese, Justin Weathers, Jarod Neese, James Mark Brown, and John Daniel Amos.

Honorary Pallbearers include: Tuffy, Bunny, JoAnn Sappington, Dale Stewart, Bill Childress, and her great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Nelson-Potter Cemetery. Brother Gerald Vickers will be officiating. Family night will be Monday, December 10 from 6 to 8 PM.

Services have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Service in Antlers, Oklahoma.
