Mellisa Watts Obituary

Mellisa Diane Watts went to be in the arms of the Lord on August 8, 2019, in Spencerville, Oklahoma at the age 49, with her partner Julie Strickland and niece Machell Hunter by her side.

"Missie" or "Aunt Biss", as all knew her, was born May 15, 1970 to Haskell Ray Watts (deceased)and Barbara Claudine Watts, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Missie moved with her family to Spencerville, Oklahoma when she was a young child and lived in Spencerville the majority of her adult life. Missie graduated from Rattan High School in 1988 and went on to continue her education at Eastern Oklahoma State College, achieving a 4.0 GPA. Although Missie was injured at a young age and unable to work, she achieved much. Missie enjoyed working with her hands and those who knew her best knew she was happiest when she was "tinkering". From remodeling her home, building furniture, or building a sand-box for her daughter; the love she put into those projects has been enjoyed by those around her. Missie loved to fish, watch movies, have bonfires in the yard, and was always quite the practical joker playing pranks on everyone. Missie was everyone's "Aunt Biss", touching the lives of many and opening her home to many children; always there when they needed her, a safe place to land or a place to vent. Missie has touched the lives of so many people, she was loved deeply and will be missed dearly.

Missie was preceded in death by her father, Haskell Ray Watts, her grandmother Margaret Jane Johnson, and nephew JoJo Talley.

Missie is survived my her loving partner: Julie Strickland; mother: Barbara Claudine Watts; her daughter: Jordyn Hayman-Watts; son: Sean Meredith-Watts; daughter: Haley Strickland; sisters: Peggy Hedrick, Gail Earthman and husband Mark, and Barbara Jean Talley and husband Don; nieces: Machell Hunter and husband Dustin, Kaitlyn Hedrick and fiancé Justin Butler, Lanie Hedrick, and Danielle Talley; nephews: James Smith, Heath Talley and wife Clarissa, Christopher Earthman, Michael Earthman, Stephen Seyler and wife Sara; great-nephews: Clod Talley, Toad Talley, Cason Seyler, Rylan Hedrick, Westin Hunter, Graeson Hudson, and Kleat Butler; great-niece: Raeghan Weatherford; and many other extended family members.

Now that she has gained her wings, fly high Missie, we love and will miss you every day.
