Nancy Heindl Obituary

Nancy Carolyn (Cooper) Heindl, 81, of Richardson, Texas went to be with the Lord Sunday, November 11, 2018 in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

Nancy was born June 27, 1937 to Jess and Bessie (Holt) Cooper in Joplin, Missouri.

She lived most of her life in Antlers, Oklahoma and was a graduate of Antlers High School. She lived a short time in Muldrow, OK and several years in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Nancy returned to her hometown of Antlers in 1978 and subsequently moved to Plano, Texas in 1983. She married John Heindl on May 25, 1988 in Plano, Texas.

Nancy worked for several entities as a valued Secretary, including Antlers Abstract in Antlers, OK; Pushmataha County Health Department in Antlers, OK and the Antlers Public School system along with a security clearance position of Team Secretary to numerous scientists at The Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory in Los Alamos, NM. She was a Secretary and Job Cost Estimator for SunTex in Wylie, TX before finishing her career as an Administrative Assistant for more than 20 years with the Walk The Talk company in the Dallas Metro.

She loved dancing especially the jitterbug and always seemed to be the life of the party. Nancy always had a smile on her face and a feisty attitude. She enjoyed a great sense of humor! Despite her beauty and grace, Nancy was unpretentious and fun loving. She stayed in touch with family and friends by forwarding endless emails. Amazingly, an e-card always found its way from Nancy to loved ones’ inboxes on special occasions. She was a kind person and loved life to the fullest. Nancy loved pets and joyfully spoiled and pampered her beloved Rottweiler dogs over the years. Additionally, as a result of her humility, many people she encountered during her life did not realize she was an accomplished pianist and organist, playing on Sundays at the First Methodist Church in Antlers and ultimately receiving a music scholarship offer from Southern Methodist University in Dallas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jess and Bessie Cooper and her 4 loving and protective brothers, Jess Jr.; John; E.A.; and Billy Cooper.

Those left to cherish Nancy’s memory are her loving husband, John Heindl of the home; 2 daughters and 2 sons-in-law, Patti Bess and Woody Olsen of Poteau, OK and Jessica and Jim Berry of Shawnee, OK; 1 son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Natalie Wilson of Frisco, TX; 9 grandchildren, Rebecca Jones, Holli Jones, Adam Jones, Nicholas Berry and wife Blakely, Jess Spencer Berry, Carolyn Alexandra “Alex” Berry, Cooper Wilson, Emily Wilson, Carter Wilson; 9 great-grandchildren, Kayla Jones, Jacob Rodriguez, Audrey DeFries, Tucker DeFries, Rylli Hammond, Trent Jones, Karli Jones, Lexi Jones and Jaxton Jones.; 3 sisters-in-law, Pat Cooper of Tulsa, OK, Mattie Cooper of Antlers, OK and Janis Cooper of Tulsa, OK; and other loving extended family and friends.
