Robert Layne "Robbie" Knighton, 37, passed from this life surrounded by his loving family in Tulsa, Oklahoma on November 23, 2019. He was born September 23, 1982 in Athens, Texas to Richard and Rhonda (Defoore) Knighton.
Robbie grew up in Athens, Texas and after graduation he met Carolyn Hawley and then they moved to the Antlers, Oklahoma area. Robbie and Carolyn created a wonderful life together and went through many struggles in life that brought them even closer. He enjoyed cooking, shopping at the Dollar Store and most of all spending time with his family and friends.
Robbie was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Elsie and Olen Defoore; paternal grandparents: Wanda and Jimmy Knighton; mother-in-law: Carolyn Blankinship; special friend: Heather Bridges.
He is survived by his loving wife Carolyn Hawley-Knighton of the home; mother: Rhonda Knighton and husband Mark Allman of Antlers, Oklahoma; father: Richard Knighton and wife Laurie of Edgewood, Texas; special children: Jazmine Bridges, Donovan Bridges of Antlers, Oklahoma and Destini Harrison of South Carolina; brother: Rickey Knighton and wife Kasey of Canton, Texas; Jackson Blacketer of Malakoff, Texas and Glenn Jones and wife Kaci of Winona, Texas; sisters: Cailey Knighton of Rockdale, Texas, Michelle Allman of Nebark, Delaware, Ashley Barnhart of Fruitville, Texas, Markie Melton and husband K.C. of Larue, Texas, Victoria Allman of Larue, Texas, Bree Jones of Lindale, Texas and Jessica McCoy and husband Adam of Tyler, Texas; special grandmother: Vickie Schupbach of Dallas, Texas; along with numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life for Robbie will be from 6-8 PM Wednesday November 27, 2019 at Serenity Funeral Service in Antlers, Oklahoma.
Also a celebration of life for Robbie will be from 2-4 PM Saturday November 30, 2019 at Sand Springs Baptist Church, 1212 FM 1616, Athens, Texas 75751.
