Thomas Edison Masters, 88, passed peacefully from this life June 1, 2018, in Antlers, Oklahoma. He was born January 5, 1930 in Ringold, Oklahoma, to Thomas Jefferson and Sidney (Green) Masters.
Ed married the love of his life, Mary Jane (Cole) Masters, January 8, 1999, in Nashville, AR. He lived in the Antlers community since 1973, where they continued to make their home. Ed was self employed and built fence for his community for over forty years. He was a proud member of the One Creek Valley Church and enjoyed playing music with his church family. Most of all he loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
He leaves behind his wife of the home: Mary Masters; children: Jan O'Neal, Glenn Masters and wife Rose, Dewey Masters and wife Crystal, Chris Masters, Elmer Masters and wife Sherry, Craig Newburn, Richard Newburn and wife Renee, Donnez Evans and husband Bobby, Mary Ann Pfaff and husband Steve, Dottie Tom and husband Larry, Freeland Hise and wife Karon, Melissa Smith, and Christina Chapman and husband Justin; 39 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren; and his dog: Whiskey; along with many other nieces, nephews, relatives and a host of friends.
Ed is preceded in death by his parents: Thomas and Sidney Masters; son: Rodney Newburn; son in law: Sid O'Neal; sisters: Rosie Wolfe and Lizzie Blackwood; brothers: Earl Masters and Willie Masters; and great grandchildren: Jacob Cantrell, Joshua Cantrell, Sara Scott and Anonias Butler.
Memorial services will be held 1:00 pm, Friday, June 8, 2018, at the Cowboy Church in Antlers, Oklahoma.
