Amelia Maxine Potts Talvitie, 80, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and niece was called home by the Lord and reunited with her loving parents and son on Feb. 6, 2023 in Antlers, OK.
Amelia was born to Roy and Ethel Potts on Apr. 1, 1942, in Bakersfield, CA. She was a devoted daughter and mother. She spent most of her life taking care of others, working as a Nurse Technician, in-home care giver, and taking care of her parents and oldest son.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Ethel (Tudder) Potts; son, David A. Losey, Jr.; brothers, Samuel Potts and John Potts. Forever grateful for family she is survived by her son, Steven (Missy) Losey of Tehachapi, CA; granddaughter, Shandi (Richard) Thompson of Tehachapi, CA; great granddaughter, Rylan Thompson of Tehachapi, CA; aunt and best friend, Maggie Stewart of Antlers, OK; as well as her cousins, and friends.
At her request, her ashes are to be buried with her parents. A short graveside service will be held on Sunday, Mar. 5, 3p.m. at Darwin Cemetery, OK.
There are no words that can express how grateful and blessed we are to have her caregivers, Tommy and Celyssa Martz, who took loving care of her over the last 9 months and were there for us on the night of her passing.
Services are under the direction of Serenity Funeral Service in Antlers, Oklahoma.
