Ami Standridge Obituary
Ami Elizabeth Standridge, 37, was born to Bonnie K. Neese and Herman Johnson on June 29, 1984, in Antlers, Oklahoma. She passed from this life and into the presence of her Lord on August 16, 2021.
Ami was a kind, free spirit with quite a sense of humor, her favorite line was to tell people that if she was getting out of hand, it was because she was “Letting her Neese hang out”. Never the one to miss an opportunity to make an entrance, you could always count on her to be "fashionably late" to family gatherings and to bring a smile, and a sopapilla cheesecake, when she came. Ami loved the Lord and was of the Christian faith. She adored spoiling her nieces and nephews, and often gave Santa Claus a run for his money. Ami enjoyed rock and arrowhead hunting, fighting with her cat Meeko, attending concerts, and spending time with her family and friends. Ami was all the best parts of her family in one, funny, hardheaded, caring, sweet, and faithful person, just like her Granny Ruth taught her to be. She always looked for the good in others and helped anyone in need. She truly had a heart of gold.
Above all else, Ami loved her son Easton and was a very proud momma. Ami said often how Easton changed her life and made her complete the day he was born. She never wanted more than one child, because she said that God got hers right the first time.
Ami will be missed, every hour and every day, but she will be celebrated and honored by her family and friends for the amazing person that she was. To know her, was truly to love her.
Ami is preceded in death by her granny: Ruth Nelson; aunt: Cindy Rosson; and uncle: David Rosson.
She is survived by her son: Easton Drake Standridge of Antlers, OK; mother: Bonnie K. Neese of Antlers, OK; father: Herman Johnson of Antlers, OK; brothers: Jarod Earl Neese and wife Jennifer of Midwest City, OK, and Jake Johnson of Antlers, OK; grandfather: Elwood Nelson of Antlers, OK; aunts: Tessa Lynn Brown of Rosenburg, TX, and Peggy Amos and husband John of Oregon; uncles: David Neese of Antlers, OK and Steve Neese of Antlers, OK; niece: Jasmine Avery Burch-Neese of Antlers, OK; nephew: Aiden Kent Ross of Midwest City, OK; cousins: Justin Weathers and his children Lillian Ann, Lazarus Scott, and Declan Robert of Midwest City, OK, Megan Weathers-Neeld and her children, Hayden, Spencer, and Corbin of Midwest City, OK; Cody Neese of Antlers, OK, Jason Neese and his daughter Alyssa of Tulsa, OK, Kirbie Rovolis and daughter Addison of Madison, MS, Kylie Brown of North Bend, OR, Kaitlin Lopez and her children Penelope and Noah, James Mark Brown of Antlers, OK, and John Daniel Amos of Oregon; and significant other: Stetson Bruce of Antlers, OK; as well as a host of other cousins, friends and relatives.
Family night for Ami will be held on Thursday, August 19, 2021 from 6-8PM at Serenity Funeral Service. Memorial service to be held at a later date.
