Andy Rogers passed from this life in Antlers, Oklahoma on May 18, 2022 at the age of 87 years. He was born on July 13, 1934 in Carnegie, Oklahoma to Claud and Alice (Johnson) Rogers. Andy married Jan Carter on March 3, 1962 in Beaver, Oklahoma, and together they raised a family that meant everything to them.
After attending Sunset School of Preaching, he became known as Cowboy Preacher. Andy was blessed with many different traits and talents. He enjoyed his horses, ranching, being outdoors, tending his cattle, fishing, and was an all-around jack of all trades. Andy cherished time spent with his beloved family, and one of his very favorite pastimes was back porch visits with those he loved.
Andy is preceded in death by his Parents: Claud and Alice Rogers; Brothers: Billy Rogers and Otho Rogers; Great-Grand Son: Hunter Scott Jr.; Nephews: Brad Rogers and Shane Murry; Father and Mother-In-Law: Leroy and Lorene Carter; Brothers-in-law: Sam Carter and Don Murry.
He is survived by his Spouse: Jan Rogers of the home; Children: Andy Rogers and spouse Suzi of Sulphur Springs, TX, Jana Tallant and spouse Todd of Mineral Springs, AR, and Jami Scott and spouse Donald of McAlester, OK; Grandchildren: Whitney Grand-Lienard and spouse Jim of Sulphur Springs, TX, Kalea Crotzer and spouse Michael of Josephine, TX, Magen Smelser and spouse Richard of Nashville, AR, Shelbi Smith and spouse Dillon of Nashville, AR, Hunter Scott and spouse Hope of McAlester, OK, Blake Scott and spouse Lyndee of Blocker, OK, Cody Scott and spouse Hailey of McAlester, OK, Felisha Starns and spouse Jayden of McAlester, OK; Great-grandchildren: Kinley, Quinn, Easton, Makena, Sadie, Kaden, Mallory, Tessa, Rylee, Trenton, Aryah, Drew, Kade, Kaine, Katherine, and Liam; Brother-in-law: Tom Carter and wife Mary; and Sisters-in-law: Kay Rogers, Chyrle Murry, and Glenda Carter; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
A memorial service for Andy will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at 11AM at Hall Cemetery with Brent Franks officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Andy's name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital and Hall Cemetery.
