Betty Lou Gregg Obituary

Betty Lou Gregg, a beloved matriarch to her family, passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord on August 4, 2025 with her daughters at her side. She was born on February 25, 1934 in Jumbo, OK to Elmer H. Powell and Vera Juanita (Jobe) Powell.

Betty married SD Gregg on January 24, 1953, and together they raised three children. Grounded firmly in her Christian faith, she was steadfast in her love and support, teaching her family the value of strength, loyalty, and hard work. She enjoyed the simple things in life like working in her garden, crocheting blankets for those she loved, relaxing with her word searches and stash of sweets, and feeding her family delicious home-cooked meals because she never let anyone leave her house with an empty belly. Yet, nothing made her happier than spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each of whom she cherished dearly.

Betty is preceded in death by her beloved husband: SD "Skeet" Gregg; son: Terry Gregg; son-in-law: Lee Vaughan; parents: Elmer and Juanita Powell; sisters: Billie Jo Satterfield and Martha Elizabeth "Polly" Shirley; and great-grandchildren: Marshall Vaughan and Baby Vaughan, who was born sleeping.

She is survived by her daughters: Gayla Vaughan of Antlers, OK, and Ronda Spear and husband Kenny of Antlers, OK; daughter-in-law: Debra Gregg of Rattan, OK; her sister: Peggy Akard and husband Neal of Antlers, OK; her grandchildren: Timothy Gregg, Brandi Dillaman and husband Phillip, Erin Sorrells and husband Richard, Greg Vaughan and wife Ashley, Leah Spear and fiancé Jeremy Workman, Tyler Spear and wife Sherill, and Melissa Gregg; and her treasured great-grandchildren: Ember Heppner and husband LJ, Madeline Sorrells and significant other Blake Dollarhite, Easton Gregg, Cayd Sorrells, Kolie Spear, Paislee Vaughan, Barrett Spear, Matthew Dillaman, Noah Dillaman, Lily Workman, and Isaac Workman.

The family would like to extend their endless gratitude to Haley Roland, Jennifer Morris, LeAnn Ryan, and Randa Bates who all showed sincere kindness and compassion in their care.

Family night will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025 from 6-8PM at Serenity Funeral Service in Antlers.
