Betty Leflore Obituary

Betty Jean (Baker) LeFlore was welcomed into the arms of her Savior on October 23, 2023 in Palestine, Texas. She was born on May 26, 1942, in Guthrie, Oklahoma, to parents Harvey and Edna. Betty eventually made her home in Southeast Oklahoma and was a resident of the Cloudy community for over 40 years.

In her professional life, Betty served as an LPN at the local hospital for many years. She ended her nursing career at the Rowland Ellis Flatt Clinic, providing comfort and care to those in need. Nursing was not just a profession but a calling, filled with dedication that reflected in every patient she treated. Her care touched numerous lives throughout her career.

Beyond her profession, Betty was an avid reader and an exceptional quilter. These peaceful hobbies provided comfort to her and those around her. Her beautiful quilts will continue to provide warmth and comfort to all who knew her.

Preceding Betty in death were her beloved husband: Robert LeFlore, who passed in 2002 after sharing many wonderful years of marriage; her daughter: Gwenda LeFlore; granddaughter: Hailey Joy Rudder; sisters: Verna Lou Baker, Thelma Erwin, Laura Dunagan, and Fay Bailey; her brother: Jimmy Erwin; and her parents: Harvey Baker and Edna Baker-Erwin.

Betty's memory will be cherished by her surviving family members, including her loving children: Donna Baze and her husband Johnny of Rattan, OK, and Sherry Smith and her husband Gregory of Oakwood, TX. Betty was blessed to be the grandmother of Randell Baze, Jessica Baze, Jerald Rudder, Weldon Rudder, Jeffrey Smith, and Brandon Smith; and great-grandmother to Meghan Rudder, Clayci Carter, Aubrey Carter, Riley Rudder, and Clara Rudder. She is also survived by her sisters, Kay Haltman, of Oklahoma City, OK, and Catherine Burk, of Cloudy, OK.
