Bettye Lou Hansen, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on December 28, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on June 28, 1942, in Denison, Texas, to Bonnie and Otis Baker. Bettye lived a life marked by compassion, creativity, resilience, and an unwavering devotion to family and community.
A lifelong creative and true lady, Bettye had a flair for fashion and a love of jewelry and clothing that reflected her elegant and vibrant spirit. As a LPN, she dedicated her life to caring for others, touching countless lives with her warmth, skill, and generosity. Her love for art, music, and imaginative expression mirrored her zest for life, while her quiet acts of kindness and thoughtfulness left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Bettye will be remembered for her warm smile, kind eyes, gentle humor, fierce spirit and her remarkable ability to make each person feel seen, valued, and cared for.
She is survived by her children, Paula Starkey and partner, Harold Starkey, Kathye Ewing, Veronica Foster and partner, Zack Foster, Adrian Hansen and partner, Stephanie Hansen, Rosa Wammack and her partner, Zack Wammack; her grandchildren, Shaunel, Channon, Danika, Micah, Alexis, and Parker.

A remembrance service will be held, followed by refreshments, food, and an opportunity to share stories and memories. Memory cards will be available for guests to write down and share a special memory. Guests are encouraged to add a memory to the memory table or keep a card for themselves. All are welcome to stay as long as they like to visit, celebrate her life, and raise a toast in her honor. May we leave carrying her light and spirit forward.
