Billie Jean Stanford was born May 14, 1933, in Kosoma, OK to Mike and Beulah Emery.
She completed her journey of life on January 27, 2024, in Antlers, OK at the age of 90.
Billie's passion for traveling and stories of those travels left lasting impressions on her family, who will forever admire her adventurous spirit and resilience. Among her most treasured experiences were the memories of accompanying her husband during his Naval service, a chapter that included the remarkable adventure of moving to Japan with her two small children.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents: Mike Emery and Beulah (Martin) Emery; brothers: Herbert Emery and Ronald Ray Emery; and her husbands, Harold Leon Melton and Richard Stanford.
Billie Jean's radiant legacy continues through her family. She is survived by her children: Harold Melton and his wife Peggy, Teresa Kellett and her husband Billy; and her step-children, Bill Stanford, Radford Stanford, and Lavonne Stanford; her brother: Michael Emery and his wife Sonja; as well as seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at Kosoma Cemetery at 11AM on Friday, February 2, 2024.
Services are under the direction of Serenity Funeral Service of Antlers.
