Bill Hedgecock, 87, was born on May 4, 1934 in Decatur, Texas to Patrick and Nina (Ward) Hedgecock. On July 11, 2021, he went to be with his Lord at his home in Antlers, Oklahoma with his loving family at his side. He had been a resident of the Antlers area for over 80 years.
Bill married Inez Alexander on May 11, 1956 in Hugo, Oklahoma. A few short months after they wed, Bill was inducted into the United States Army and served proudly until he was honorably discharged in 1958. Bill returned home to Antlers, and he and Inez had many wonderful years with their family. He was a true outdoorsman, and enjoyed filling his free time with playing his instruments, training animals, gardening, farming, and hunting racoons. Bill will truly be missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Patrick and Nina Hedgecock; and siblings: Dub Hedgecock, Levenia Gentry, Raymond Hedgecock, Lois Tompson, Nell Prince, Pete Hedgecock, and Bertie Cox.
Bill leaves many behind to cherish his many, including his wife: Inez Hedgecock of the home; children: Don Hedgecock and wife Tammy of Wilburton, OK, Byron Hedgecock and wife Joy of Antlers, OK, and Sharon Tipps and husband Wayne of Antlers, OK; grandchildren: Jennifer Metcalf, Tina McArthur, BJ Hedgecock, Michael Hedgecock, Josh Tipps, Brittany Carter, and Lucas Hedgecock; great-grandchildren: Michelle Hedgecock, Trenton Hedgecock, Tripp Hedgecock, Oaklyn Carter, Brylee Hedgecock, Kynlee Hedgecock, Arianna Tipps, Brian McArthur, Tanner McArthur, Zac Draper, and Addie Kropp; as well as a host of friends and relatives.
Services for Bill will take place on 10AM Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at Serenity Funeral Service with interment following at Antlers City Cemetery. Pallbearers include Byron Hedgecock, BJ Hedgecock, Michael Hedgecock, Trenton Hedgecock, Tripp Hedgecock, and Josh Tipps. Honorary pallbearers include: Harvey Cogburn, Red Hammons, and Bill's nephews.
