Elbert Laverne "Buddy" Dunham, 89, passed from this life December 25, 2021, in Antlers, Oklahoma. He was born June 29, 1932, in Fort Thompson, Oklahoma, to Elbridge and Lola Mae (Barnhart) Dunham.
Buddy was a member of the Centerpoint Free Will Baptist Church and had significant faith in his Lord. He was a very hard working man. As a self-employed logger and farmer he took great pride in the work he did. Buddy also enjoyed coon hunting, squirrel hunting and telling stories. He was an avid listener and partner in crime with Ole' Jerry Clower and Ray Stevens! Between them and John Wayne, they solved all the worlds problems. Above all else, Buddy loved spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his wife: Allen Elizabeth Rard Dunham; sons: Gary Elbert Dunham, Julius Alford Dunham and Gilbert Lee Dunham; brothers: Elbridge Harm Dunham Jr. and Orville Leroy Dunham; and sisters: Lola Catherine Gibson, and Irene Marie McKnight.
Buddy is survived by his daughter: Sherry Ilene Dunham Stapleton and husband Dean; son: Johnny Beasley; sister: Lona Mae Anderson; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Buddy will be 10AM, Monday, December 27, 2021, at the Serenity Funeral Service Chapel, in Antlers, Oklahoma. Burial to follow at Darwin Cemetery.
