Charlie Michele Rowland, a beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away on April 5, 2023, in her hometown of Antlers, Oklahoma. Born on December 20, 1984, Charlie was known for her intelligence, courage, and adventurous spirit. She was a pillar of her community and a shining example of what it means to live life to the fullest.
Charlie is survived by her three daughters: Payton Michele Wolfe, Vivian Ray Rowland, and Dovey Ann Rowland, all of Antlers, Oklahoma. She is also survived by her father: Tony Walls, and mother, Michele Chastain, both of Antlers, Oklahoma; her brothers, Payton Lee Walls, Dallas Thomas Chastain, and Dustin James Chastain, all of Antlers, Oklahoma; and her sisters: Lacassa Ann Weems of New Smyrna, Florida, and Skylar Blu Chastain of Antlers, Oklahoma. She is also survived by her loving grandparents, Barbara Shumate of Coos Bay, Oregon, and Laverne Walls of Antlers, Oklahoma; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
Charlie was preceded in death by her grandfather: Charles (Sonny Boy) Walls.
Charlie was a proud graduate of Antlers High School and went on to earn her Doctorate of Law from the University of Oklahoma. She was a dedicated and passionate attorney, who eventually opened her own law firm, Rowland Law Firm, in her hometown of Antlers. Charlie's commitment to justice and her community was evident in her work, and she was highly respected by her peers and clients alike.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Charlie was an avid writer, painter, and traveler. She found solace and inspiration in the great outdoors, often taking trips to explore new landscapes and cultures. Charlie's adventurous spirit was contagious, and she inspired those around her to embrace life's challenges and opportunities with courage and enthusiasm.
Charlie's intelligence and courage were matched only by her boldness and character. She was a devoted mother to her three daughters, always prioritizing their needs and supporting their dreams. Charlie's love for her family extended to her siblings, with whom she shared a close bond, and her parents, who instilled in her the values of hard work, determination, and empathy.
As we remember Charlie Michele Rowland, we celebrate her life and the indelible impact she had on those who knew her. Her legacy of love, adventure, and courage will live on in the hearts and minds of her family, friends, and community.
A graveside service will be held at the Walls Family Cemetery on April 11, 2023 at 10AM in Antlers, Oklahoma with Brent Franks officiating.
