Clarence Troy "Drake" Savage Obituary

Clarence Troy "Drake" Savage, a spirited and faith-filled man, left this world on March 14, 2025, at the age of 83, in Denison, Texas. Born on March 11, 1942, in Finley, Oklahoma, to W.C. "Tooter" Savage and Bennie (Ridpath) Savage, Drake's early years were steeped in the values of family and community that would define his entire life.

A man of the land, Drake made his living in the log woods, an occupation that kept him close to the natural world he so cherished. His love for the outdoors was mirrored in his passions for hunting, fishing, and gardening, activities that he not only enjoyed but also used as opportunities to teach and spend time with his family and friends. Drake's commitment to his community was evident in his active membership at One Creek Valley Baptist Church, where he found strength and solace in his faith.

Drake's life was a melody carried by his love for playing music. Whether strumming a guitar or singing a hymn, he found joy in the notes that brought people together, especially if it meant his grandchildren were involved. His love for travel often found him exploring new places, yet he was always happiest returning home to the familiar landscapes and faces he loved.

Drake is preceded in death by his beloved wife: Vicki Bell Savage; his parents: W.C. "Tooter" and Bennie Savage; his brothers: Claude Albert, Herbert, and J.L. Savage; and his sisters: Kenzada Phipps and Johnnie Sue Pace.

His beautiful legacy is carried on by his devoted children: Audrey Carter and husband Bob, Anita Bryant and husband Kim, Arlinda Darst and husband Robert (Doc), Amber Routon and husband Mark, and Clarence Troy Savage II; sisters: Sharri McIntosh and Linda Thomas; grandchildren: Amanda Smith, Amy House, Brock Trotter, Ashton Neufeld, Buck Trotter, Taylor McKeehen, Conner Copeland, Ben Copeland, Bryn Copeland, and Andi Bush; and great-grandchildren: Tylie Shoemake, Brylee House, Carter Smith, Harper Smith, Finley Neufeld, Emry Neufeld, Nelson McKeehen, Harli Jo Bush, Waylon Bush, Haze Bush, Britton Trotter, and Kenzie Trotter, who will grow up hearing tales of their great-grandfather's strength, humor, and unwavering integrity. His presence was a gift to those who knew him, and his memory will continue to inspire and guide all who were fortunate enough to have been a part of his journey through life.
