Cleyopha "Cleo" Rome Cody, Jr, age 66, went to be with his Lord on November 12, 2020 at his home in Antlers, Oklahoma with his family at his side. He was born on August 1, 1954 in Dallas, Texas to Cleyopha Rome Cody and Imogene (Gunn) Cody.
Cleo married Toni Morris on February 6, 1972 in Dallas, Texas, and they eventually made their home in Antlers where they had lived for the past 23 years. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and, most of all, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Cleo was of the Baptist faith.
He is preceded in death by his parents Cleyopha Rome and Imogene Cody; foster-parents: Bob and Nadine (Story) Bridges; sisters: Betty Manson and Mary Jackson; foster-sister: Helen Bridges; and granddaughters: Nichole Lea Cody and Dalilah DeAnn Carter.
Cleo is survived by his wife: Toni Cody of the home; children: Shawna Cody, Cleyopha "Scooter" Cody III and spouse LaTonya, and Crystal Carter and spouse Gabe, all of Antlers, Oklahoma; brother: Lonnie Cody of Watonga, Texas; sisters: Martha Williams of Texarkana, Texas and Roma Clements of Irving, Texas; foster sisters: Lola Hill of Antlers, OK, Barbara Dillishaw of Antlers, OK, and Betty Smith of Hugo, OK; grandchildren: Amber Gillig, Tristan Duncan, Robert Hill, Nicholas Hill, Spencer Cody, Remington Baxter, Taylor Breshears, Ciera Byars, Kenneth Carter, Kimberly Carter, Andrew Carter, and Marcus Carter; as well as 16 great-grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends.
Services for Cleo will be held 2 PM Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at Serenity Funeral Service with Brent Franks officiating. Interment will follow at Antlers City Cemetery.
Pallbearers include: Robert Hill Jr., Nicholas Hill, Spencer Cody, Remington Baxter, Marcus Carter, and Andrew Carter. Honorary Pallbearers are: Richard Manson, Bobby Bridges, Troy Hughes, Aaron King, Don Hatcher and T.J. Hankins.
