Cleoria Irene Shaw

Cleoria Irene Shaw, 101, passed from this life September 3, 2022, in Antlers, Oklahoma. She was born, a twin, March 14, 1921, in Jumbo, Oklahoma, to George and Ada (Davis) Shaw.

She grew up on her family's farm, and remained there with her parents until the time of their death. She attended school, with her siblings, in the Jumbo area. She did many chores around the farm and helped care for her parents and brother, Fay, later in life. When her parents and brother passed away, she continued to live on the home place for several years. In later years, she moved to the Antlers Housing Authority Apartments beside the Antlers Senior Citizen Center. She loved living there and enjoyed going to the center everyday for lunch, dominoes and visiting. Cleoria liked to watch television, and never missed "Wheel Of Fortune." When her health began to fail, she moved to the Choctaw Nation Nursing Home, and has lived very happily there with her friends and caregivers, continuing to play dominoes, bingo, watch television and eat her favorite snacks. Cleoria was a Christian woman with a proud affiliation to the Church of Christ. She was a faithful member and attended regularly while her health would allow her to.

Cleoria was preceded in death by her parents: George and Ada Shaw; siblings: Wren Shaw, Lester Shaw, Raymond Shaw, Carl Shaw, Fay Shaw, Leona Shaw- Brents, Odelia Shaw- Napier, and Theda Shaw-Walling.

She is survived by her brother-in-law: Harold Walling; 12 nieces and nephews; many great nieces and great nephews; as well as a host of friends.

Services for Cleoria Shaw will be Friday, September 9, 2022, at 2PM, in the Serenity Funeral Service Chapel, in Antlers, Oklahoma. Brent Franks will be officiating. Burial to follow at Darwin Cemetery.
