Clyde Arthur Johnson, 80, passed from this life peacefully at his home November 13, 2021 in Rattan, Oklahoma. Clyde was born December 15, 1940 to Cyrus A. and Margaret Jane (Lairamore) Johnson in Spencerville, Oklahoma.
Clyde met Janie Morris and they wed April 27, 1963. After they took their vows, they moved to California where he worked at a baby food cannery. Realizing that they miss Oklahoma, the two of them moved back to southeastern Oklahoma where they lived and raised their daughters Carla and Susan. Clyde was a brick layer by trade but all that knew him knew he was a legend at chicken fights, loved to go fishing, playing dominoes and tending to his chickens and cows. Clyde was very talented at his brick laying and his work can be seen all over. He is proud that he was able to travel to 37 states and some of them twice to do his God given talent. Most of all Clyde will be missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Janie Johnson; his parents: Cyrus and Margaret Johnson; and a sister: Claudine Watts.
Clyde is survived by his daughters; Carla Reed and husband Keith and Susan Johnson all of Rattan, Oklahoma; one grandson: Andrew; great grandsons: Chris, Chance and Mason, Elijah; along with a host of other family and friends.
Services for Clyde will be 2 PM Wednesday November 17, 2021 at the Spencerville Church with Pastor Jonathan Hooker officiating. Interment will follow at Spencerville Cemetery where he will be next to his loving wife Janie.
Family night for Clyde will be held Tuesday November 16, 2021 from 6 to 7 PM at Serenity Funeral Service in Antlers, Oklahoma.
Pallbearers will be Kelly Doshier, Don Talley, Dean Duncan, Eddie Hendricks, Jimmy Parker and Don Allensworth. Honorary pallbearers will be Andrew, Chris, Chance, Mason and Elijah.
Services are entrusted with Serenity Funeral Service in Antlers, Oklahoma.
