Courtney Nicole Akard

Courtney Nicole Akard was born on June 10, 1990, in Paris, TX, to Blake and Dicey Akard. She departed this life to be with her Lord on September 18, 2019, at the age of 29.

Courtney was definitely a lady and was known for having the sweetest heart. She loved her family deeply and always wanted the best for them. Courtney always enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews, watching their favorite shows on her laptop, and giving them rides on her wheelchair. She had many people who loved her, but her mother, Dicey, was always her strongest supporter and faithful caregiver who loved and cared for her all of her life.

Courtney was the kindest person who would never do harm to anyone. She was the easiest person to talk to and always enjoyed conversations with her brothers and hanging out with them. She looked forward to each of their visits.

Courtney is survived by her mother Dicey Akard of the home; brothers: Tommy Gilbert & wife Bev of Mabank, TX, Rink Gilbert & wife Dana of Mabank, TX, Rowdy Gilbert & wife Hollie of Midlothian, TX, Casey Gilbert & wife Brandy of Bangs, TX, and Colt Gilbert & wife Brandi of Powderly, TX; sisters: Robin Young of Mabank, TX and Rhonda Gail Kemp & husband Robert of Glen Rose, TX.

Courtney also has many nieces and nephews, uncles and aunts, and many cousins, relatives, and friends who love her deeply and will always cherish her memory.

Services for Courtney will be held graveside at Prairie Ridge Cemetery in Sumner, Texas at 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 21, 2019.

Services have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Service of Antlers, Oklahoma.
