Danita Lynn Shaffer passed away in the comfort of her home in Sawyer, OK on March 28, 2025, at the age of 60. She was born to James Cather and Mona Lou (Ewing) Decker on October 13, 1964, in Antlers, Oklahoma.

A woman of many passions, Danita found joy in bird watching, watching westerns with Gil, engaging conversations with friends, tending to the garden alongside her husband, and creating beautiful memories with her grandbabies. Danita's kindness and generous spirit touched many lives, and her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.

Danita will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Gil Shaffer of Hugo, OK, and her cherished children, Destiny Hickman of Antlers, OK, and Austin Blackstock and wife Breanna of Hugo, OK. Her legacy continues through her adored grandchildren Kaytelyn, Matthew, Keylee, and Austyn Hickman of Antlers, and Kaleb Blackstock of Hugo, OK. She is also survived by her caring sister, Erin Schenk of Wylie, TX, and her beloved mother, Mona Lou (Ewing) Decker. Danita was preceded in death by her father, James Cather, and her grandparents, Joe and Helen Cather, and Vernon and Florence Ewing.
