Obituary
David R. "Butch" Nelson went home to be with the Lord on July 10, 2023. He was born on August 27, 1955 in Carmi, Illinois, the son of Herold Elwood Nelson and Geraldine "Benny" (Robb) Nelson.
In August 1969, David Moved with his family to Healdton, OK where he graduated from Healdton High School with the class of 1974.
He retired from Billingsley Ford in Ardmore, OK in 2018. He returned to Antlers, OK where he resided until his death. David "Butch" enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, game shows, and playing the family card game, Rook.
He is survived by his sisters: Peggy Nelson of Antlers, OK, Jimmie Mallette and husband Steve, Carmi, IL, and Susie Stewart and husband Dale of Lone Grove, OK; nieces: Jymme Moody and husband Curtis, Laurissa Pesavento and husband Jonathon, and Gracie Denney; nephews: Tim Stewart, Doug Mallette, Camren Metcalf, Trent Denney, and Tyson Pesavento; aunts: June Walker, JoAnn Beason, and Betty Nelson; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
David "Butch" enjoyed spending time with his family and will be greatly missed.
Services will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023 at 11AM at the Nelson Chapel. Interment to follow at Nelson Chapel Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Serenity Funeral Service of Antlers.
