Dawn Marie Holiman passed away in her home after a courageous battle with cancer on October 3rd, 2025. Born to Bill Miller and Marti Hubbard on April 1st, 1964 in Goldsboro, North Carolina, Dawn was the middle child of her family, fitting for her spunky personality.
Dawn made her career as a nurse, a testament to her selflessness. She worked in nursing homes and would spend time and money of her own making sure the residents were comfortable and felt loved. She also taught future nurses aids, many of whom still appreciate Dawn’s guidance and humor throughout their time with her. She will be remembered by her coworkers, students, and patients as kind, hardworking, genuine, and funny.
She was a devoted Mother to her girls and a treasured Memaw to seven grandchildren who will miss her presence deeply. She made sure that every holiday, birthday, and family gathering were planned accordingly and ensured that fun would be had. She always sent flowers for her older girls birthdays, as someone who loved having fresh flowers in her home.
She was at every sporting event, cheer clinic, birthday party and made sure all of her babies knew how much they were loved. She was always down for a shopping trip, lunch, and a sweet little treat with her daughters and friends. She kept her family and friends laughing up until the very end.
After marrying her husband Eddy and moving to Antlers she enjoyed going on side by side rides to feed the fish and check on all the cows. She spent time making the area fun for her family to explore, placing quirky signs throughout the property.
Dawn loved life and lived it to the fullest. In her younger years she enjoyed cheerleading and gymnastics, writing in a note to one of her daughters “I did my last backhand spring at 35 and figured I better stop before I break something”. She loved traveling, fresh flowers, sugar free monster energy drinks, blueberry scented candles, ice cream, music, and taking photos.
Those left to remember Dawn include her husband Eddy Holiman of Antlers, Oklahoma, her daughter Kelsey Jernigan and husband Trey of Colbert, Oklahoma, daughter Nancy Jones and husband Jacob of Colbert, Oklahoma, daughter Chelsea Stanley and husband Dakota of Leonard, Texas, granddaughters Cambree, Brynleigh, Olivia, Sawyer, and Spencer, and grandsons Adam and Hutton. Her father Bill Miller of Antlers, Oklahoma, mother Marti Hubbard and husband Richard Caldwell of Huntsville, Texas, sister Dena Miller of Trinity, Texas and brother Danny Miller of Crystal Beach, Texas.
