Deane Burgess, 94, passed from this life April 22, 2026 at her home in Antlers, Oklahoma.  She was born December 12, 1931 in Drummond, Oklahoma to J.E. and Artie (Stewart) Fullingim.

Deane was the youngest of seven children and graduated from Antlers High School.  She later married Leon Burgess on May 12, 1951 in Arkansas. Together they had four children: Sharon, Bobby, Patty and Nancy. Deane was a loving housewife and active in OHCE for many years. She was a lifetime member of the Hall Freewill Baptist Church.  God gifted Deane with a beautiful soprano voice. In return she showed her love of God through singing gospel music.

She enjoyed traveling, camping, crafting, watching football, especially OU and most of all she loved to rock the babies and she shined her passion about her family.

To everyone that knew her, she was “Mima”. She was much more than words can describe.

Deane was preceded in death by her husband Leon; and grandsons: Wyatt, Ty and Pason.

She is survived by her four children: Sharon and husband Buddy Savage, Bobby and wife Melanie Burgess, Patty and her husband Troy Reed, and Nancy Savage; nine grandchildren: Steve, Stefani, Zachary, Jessica, Amanda, David, Chelsi, Morgan and Drew; twenty great grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Family night will be Friday April 24, 2026 from 5-7PM at Serenity Funeral Service.

Funeral services for Deane will be held Saturday 11 AM April 25, 2026 at Hall Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Wes Haddox and Gary Everett officiating with interment following at Hall Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Steve Savage, Zachary Savage, Jace May, David Massey, Drew Savage, and Justus Landreth. Honorary pallbearers will be Buddy Savage, Troy Reed, Justin LaMothe, Ryan Phillips, Scott Landreth, Johnny May, Kevin Linn, Chad Langley, and Colton Mills.

Services for Deane have been entrusted with Serenity Funeral Service in Antlers, Oklahoma.
