Donald Cecil Standridge was born on October 30, 1953 in Las Cruces, New Mexico to Chester and Margaret Standridge. He was reunited with his wife Janet, his sons Duck and Matthew, and his parents on October 31, 2023.
Donald was a devoted father, husband, papa, and great-grandpa. He honorably served his country in the United States Army before returning home to Southeast Oklahoma. He was a hard worker and was passionate about whatever job he had, whether he was working in the log woods or law enforcement.
Although Donald didn't often express his emotions openly in public, he was a very soft-hearted, affectionate, and thoughtful person. He married the love of his life, Janet, on April 10, 1992, and he never truly recovered from her passing. When it came to his immediate family, he was extremely loving and expressed his deep love for them often. His presence will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Chester and Margaret Standridge; sons: Donald "Duck" Standridge and Matthew Standridge; wife: Janet Standridge; brother: Leon Standridge; and sisters: Betty Brown and husband Charles, and Nancy Chumley.
Donald is survived by his siblings: Hazel Taylor, Lorene Thompson, Elizabeth Babcock, Dorothy Standridge, John Standridge, George Standridge, Joe Standridge, and Hebo Standridge; children: Roseanna Sorrells and husband Reno, Karen Johnson, and Michael Bell and wife Sara; grandchildren: Donna Collins, Dyllynn Bell, Ty Bell and wife Courtney, Kristen Speer and husband Kaden, Hannah Sorrells, Legend Bell, Isaac Sorrells, Journey Bell, Adventure Bell, Kristen Masters, Haven Bennett, Koda Robins, Serenity Bennett, and Seth Johnson; great-grandchildren: William, Gunner, Macie, Harper, and Eden; special friend: Debbie Ansley; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Private graveside services will be held for the family of Donald on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 1PM at Finley Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Serenity Funeral Service of Antlers.
