Donya Simpson, 58, of Finley, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on June 4th, 2023. Born on December 2nd, 1964, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, she was the cherished daughter of Dalaha Garrison and the late Don Simpson.

Donya was raised by her loving family, surrounded by the strong influence of her grandparents, Dorthea Heath and Hoover Hensley, and Ollie and Bud Simpson, all of whom preceded her in death. In her formative years, Donya was close to her uncle, Daulton Hensley, and her late brother, Don Jay Simpson, who remained dear to her heart throughout her life.

Donya enjoyed a long career as a medical transcriptionist, excelling in her field and building strong relationships with her colleagues. She took great pride in her work and was naturally organized and detail-oriented.

Throughout her life, Donya was passionate about listening to music, tending to her pets, and watching the birds in her peaceful Finley backyard. Her love for her pets was unrivaled, and she considered them part of the family. .

She is survived by her mother, Dalaha Garrison; her beloved nephew, Justin Simpson and his wife, Katie; her step-brothers, John Garrison and wife Laureen of Loveland, CO, Robert Garrison and wife Dawn of Argyle, TX, and Dan Garrison and wife Julie of Tucson, AZ; and her many treasured step-nieces and nephews, Logan Garrison and wife Abby, Jacklynn Miller and husband Isaac, Tyler Oakes, Wade Garrison, Wyatt Garrison, Gabrielle Garrison, Dale Garrison, and Brody Garrison. Each family member held a special place in Donya's heart, and she took immense pleasure in witnessing the growth of her extended family.

Family night visitation will take place on Sunday, June 11, 2023 from 2-4 PM at Serenity Funeral Service. Funeral services will be held at Finley Baptist Church at 10AM on Monday, June 12, 2023 with Kyle Heath officiating. Interment will follow at Finley Cemetery.

Services are under the direction of Serenity Funeral Service in Antlers, Oklahoma.
