Duck Wayman Obituary

Donald Leon Wayman, known affectionately as Duck, passed away on April 10, 2026 at his home in Antlers, Oklahoma, at the age of 88. He was born on September 28, 1937, in St. Louis, Oklahoma to Joe Wayman and Delia (Mossburg) Wayman. Duck married Ruth James on June 2, 1961, and they were blessed with 64 years of marriage. He lived a life marked by hard work, devotion to family, and a steady Christian faith that guided him throughout his years.

Duck served his country honorably in the United States Army, and after his military service, he dedicated many years to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation before retiring as County Superintendent. Duck had a deep love for rodeo and the traditions that came with it, and he carried that interest with him throughout his life.


He is survived by his wife: Ruth Wayman of the home; children: Steve Wayman of Antlers, OK, Cindy Brown of Antlers, OK, and Pat and Keri Wayman of Antlers, OK, grandchildren: Shane and Alexis Brown of Dallas, TX, Morgan and Chad Langley of Antlers, OK, Zachary and Bailee Brown of Norman, OK, Joshua and Brandi Brown of Silo, OK, Carley Wayman of Durant, OK, and Brody and Emma Wayman of Durant, OK; and great-grandchildren: Lilyana, Cutter, Kylee, Emersyn, Sydney, Theo, Maizleigh, and Foster; as well as a host of cherished friends.


A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2025 at 2PM at Darwin Baptist Church. 


Services are under the direction of Serenity Funeral Service of Antlers.
