Eddy Mitchell Turner, 76, passed from this life on October 24, 2021, peacefully at his home in Antlers, Oklahoma with his family around him. He was born on April 27, 1945 in Bristow, OK to Levi Mitchell Turner and Jewell (Self) Turner. He married Mary Ann Cates on March 8, 1963, and they had many wonderful years together making a home and family of their own.
Eddy truly knew the value of hard work and family, and playing with his grandkids and great grandkids was one of his favorite things in life. He enjoyed bowling, and working his pigs, cattle, and chickens. He held several jobs over the years including Ranchers Cotton Oil, was Business Representative for the United Chemical and Industrial Workers Union, and before his retirement he worked as an operator for Georgia Pacific. Eddy had been a resident of Antlers for over 40 years
He is preceded in death by his parents: Levi Turner and Jewell Turner; brother: Clayton Turner; and sisters: Katherine Turner and Terry Turner.
Eddy is survived by his wife: Mary Turner of the home; children: Cindy Turner of Antlers, OK, Wendy Marsh and husband Paul of Antlers, OK, and Ethan Turner of Antlers, OK; sister: Loretta Staffero of Hanford, CA; grandchildren: Sam Powell and husband Matthew, Zak Marsh, Fred Marsh, Jake Mattingly and wife Jessica, Dakota Turner and wife Hayley, and Tristan Turner; and great-grandchildren: Michelle Powell, Nash Powell, Story Powell, Dallas Marsh, Gabby Marsh, Steven McDaniel, Braydon McDaniel, Knolen Turner, Deaton Turner, and Silas Mattingly.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 29, 2021 at 10AM at the Antlers City Cemetery with Brent Franks officiating. Pallbearers include: Paul Marsh, Ethan Turner, Fred Marsh, Zak Marsh, Matthew Powell, Jon Smith, Cody Turner, and Jake Mattingly. Honorary Pallbearers include: Brent Smith, Eugene Wayman, Morris Calder, Steven McDaniel, Braydon McDaniel, and Nash Powell.
Services have been entrusted with Serenity Funeral Service of Antlers.
