Edith Dell Spears was born on January 13, 1927 in Darwin, Oklahoma to Ira J. and Viola Robertson. She passed from this life at the age of 94, on February 8, 2021 in Antlers, Oklahoma. Edith was a lifelong resident of the Antlers area and was a member of the Hall Freewill Baptist Church.
After graduating from Antlers High School in 1945, she worked as a teacher for Lively Schools. Edith married Jake Spears on February 23, 1948 in Paris, TX. She worked for Gifford's Monuments for 41 years. Edith had an artistic side that showed through her love for quilting, sewing, painting, and playing her guitar. She also enjoyed playing dominoes and moon.
She is preceded in death by her husband: Jake Spears; parents: Ira and Viola Robertson; brother: Joe Wayne Robertson; sister: Lois Robertson Brooks; and grandson: Tony Low.
Edith is survived by her children: Ralph Spears, Sr and wife Tammy of Lawton, OK, and Cheryl Low and husband Mike of Antlers, OK; brother: James Robertson of San Francisco, CA; grandchildren: Ralph Spears Jr. of Antlers, OK, Jarred Spears of Virginia, Jacob Spears of Houston, TX, and Tara Low Myers and husband Cody of Antlers; great-grandchildren: Cady Low Myers, Jayke Emalee Myers, Sierra Spears, Zera Spears, and Dalton Spears; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services for Edith will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at 10AM at the Hall Cemetery with Wes Haddox officiating.
