Elvin Dane Morris

Elvin Dane Morris was born in Hugo, OK on June 16, 1937. He went peacefully to be
with his Lord on August 23, 2021 in Sulphur, OK at the age of 84.

Dane was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force where he served in Okinawa, Japan. Dane was
a caring person who always looked out for opportunities to help others. He had a
special gift of being able to fix anything and often went above and beyond to extend a
hand to his family, friends, and sometimes even people he did not know. Dane loved to
fish, build furniture, fly airplanes, perform household maintenance and repairs, fix cars,
airplanes, and anything mechanical. He invented several items throughout his life such
as a ‘sailing bicycle’, an airplane hangar door opener using an WWI bomb loader and
many other items. He once purchased a WWII Swift airplane that was in boxes after a
tornado and rebuilt it and flew it for years before he retired. His children thought there
was nothing he couldn't do.

Dane married Peggy June Davis in July 2000 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. They have
lived in the Antlers and Sulphur area since that time and are surrounded by family and
friends. Dane is preceded in death by his parents, Elvin George and Irene Myrtle Morris
of Rattan, OK and his sister, Maurita Helm of Finley, Ok.

Dane was a faithful servant of God and created a strong faith base for his family. His
kind, gentle, soft nature will be greatly missed by his children David Morris (Mardi) of
Co, Dana Cristiani (Paul) of Tx, Jay Akard (Micki) of McAlester and Julie Jack of
Sulphur. Dane was also the beloved grandfather and great grandfather to Joanna John
(Travis and Phoenix) of Ok, Erica Sweany (Tim and TJ) of Wa, Michael Cristiani of Tx, Amy
Quiceno (Mauricio) of Tx, Lindsey Weinzetl (Zach, Poppy, and Wren) of Co, Madeline Jack
of Ok, Tyler Morris of Co; and sister, Marcia Fitzgibbon (Dale).

There will be a Memorial Celebration for Dane on Saturday, August 28 at 11:30 at the
Methodist Church in Antlers, Ok. Internment services for Dane will be held following the
Memorial Celebration at 2 p.m. in the Rattan Cemetery. Friends and family are all
welcome.

The family would like to thank the VA Center in Sulphur for their warm and extraordinary
care of Dane over the last 2 months.

immense grace, healing, compassion, empathy and support to Dane and his family over
