Ernest Memphis McDaniel of Rattan, Oklahoma was born December 7, 1935 in Winder, GA to Memphis Gordan and Lela Elizabeth (Owens) McDaniel and passed away July 10, 2022 in Hugo, OK.
Ernest was a very serious person, and was always talking to people about Jesus. His family was the love of his life. Ernest worked as a carpenter throughout his life and perfected his piddle paddling in his later years.
He is survived by his wife of over 52 years, Barbara Diann (Thurman) McDaniel of the home; four children: Ernest Memphis McDaniel, Jr. and spouse Heather of Lawton, OK, Belinda Diann Watrous and spouse Chuck of Brandon, MS, Sharon Elizabeth Janoe and spouse Chris of Rattan, OK, and Jonathan Bryan McDaniel and spouse Jessica of Rattan, OK; eight grandchildren: Brittany Diann Clarke and spouse Austin, Brianna Dawn Crowe and spouse Bobby, Jacob Roland Watrous, Brason Layne Janoe, Aundrea Marie McDaniel, Benjamin Bryan Janoe, Jonathan Cole McDaniel, and Haley Grace McDaniel; one brother: Howard McDaniel and wife Pat of Rockmart, GA; sister-in-law: Margie Lawrence and nephew Tony Lawrence and family of Rattan, OK; and several other nieces and nephews.
Family night visitation will be held on Friday, July 15, 2022 from 6-8 PM at Serenity Funeral Service. Funeral services for Ernest take place at Victory Assembly of God in Rattan, OK on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 5 PM.
Services have been entrusted with Serenity Funeral Service of Antlers, Oklahoma.
