Finnis grew up in Jumbo, OK where he helped his dad on the family farm. He loved to ride horses, fish, and swim growing up. He worked road construction most of his life, and worked for the county several years. Finnis ran for and won the office of County Commissioner and after several years, retired from that position. He raised and sold paint horses for years. Whiteside paints were sold to many people from many places. Finnis was very proud of his paints. He took Joann on many trail rides, and rode in many playdays. He also built many roads including the turnpike. Finnis loved to get on his tractor and was always doing something on his place. He loved camping and fishing, and spent a lot of the time getting Joann's hook out of the trees. He always enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Bobby was on the tractor with him from 6 months on up, when Finnis would take him for rides to put him to sleep. Finnis enjoyed talking and spent a lot of time socializing and had a list of friends he called on holidays. He lived a full life and did it his way.
