Gay Lee Martin, a beacon of love and compassion, passed away on August 13, 2024 in Spencerville, Oklahoma. Gay was born on March 5, 1952, in Mare Island, California, to Doran Lee Meadows and Jimmie Lou Mauldin, who preceded her in death.
Gay's life was a portrait of devotion and kindness, marked by her cherished relationships with family and friends. She is survived by her loving spouse, Jerry Martin, whom she married in 1991 in Bakersfield, California. Gay's legacy of love continues through her children, Kevin Fowler of Portland, Oregon, Krystal Martin of San Diego, California, and Jeri Ann Kramer, together with her husband Mike of Marco Island, Florida. Her sisters, Lynn Guerra and husband Treno and Sylvia Hendrix and husband Ron, also share in the family's cherished memories. As a grandmother and great-grandmother, her joy was multiplied through her grandchild, Layni Steel of Kansas City, Kansas, and great-grandchild, Aurora Steel.
In addition to being a wonderful homemaker, Gay enjoyed passing time by rejuvenating Bibles to make them look new again, which reflected her enduring faith and her craftsmanship. Gay possessed a lovely soul that drew people to her and an ability to love unconditionally. Those qualities made her a truly beautiful person.
The profound loss of Gay Lee Martin will be felt by many, yet her warm spirit and the blessings of her kindness will be cherished forever.
