Hardy Dickerson, Jr., 92, passed from this life on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, in Ada, Oklahoma. He was born July 13, 1930, in Sobol, Oklahoma, to Hardy and Azzie (Allen) Dickerson.
He was a Christian man who loved the Lord. Hardy was a hard working, family man. He enjoyed gardening and was a great cook. Above all else, Hardy loved his wife of 69 years, his children and his grandchildren.
Hardy is preceded in death by his father: Hardy Dickerson; mother: Azzie Dickerson; and ten siblings.
He is survived by his wife: Jimmie Dickerson of the home; children: Mike Dickerson and wife Sue of Concord, California, Darrel Dickerson and wife Janet of McAlester, Oklahoma and Janice Rose and husband Mike of Ada, Oklahoma; grandchildren: Shannon Abella and husband David of California, Sara Dickerson of California, Aaron Dickerson and wife Sam of California, Chase Dickerson and wife Katie of Ada, Oklahoma, Devan Turney and husband Brandon of McAlester, Oklahoma, Carter Matthews and wife Jennifer of Ada, Oklahoma and Cassie Brown and husband Brandon of Duncan, Oklahoma; great grandchildren: Kash Turney, Reid Dickerson, Tye Turney, Abey Turney, Jack Matthews, Beau Matthews, Ethan Rowe, Garrett Rowe, Jaxson Brown, Riley Brown, Rylie Dickerson, Logan Dickerson and soon to be Baby Abella; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers include: Mike Dickerson, Darrel Dickerson, Mike Rose, Carter Matthews, Aaron Dickerson, Chase Dickerson and Brandon Turney.
Honorary pallbearers include: Rick Dickerson, Scott Smith, Leon Dickerson, Bennie Gunter, Gene Allen, Lyman Garman, Modesto Guerrero, and Terry Mills.
Services for Hardy Dickerson will be held 2 PM Tuesday January 17, 2023 at Serenity Funeral Service with interment following at Antlers Cemetery. Brent Franks and Reverend Gerald Vickers will be officiating.
Family night for Hardy will be held Monday January 16, 2023 at Serenity Funeral Service from 6-7 PM.
