Helen Brittingham Obituary

Helen L. Brittingham passed away peacefully on September 16, 2025, at the age of 85. She was born on May 27, 1940, in Fruita, Colorado to Dee and Emma (Cox) Mays.

Before retiring, Helen worked many years as a grocery store clerk, a role that allowed her to get to know and serve her community. Her Christian faith was a cornerstone in her life, providing her comfort and guiding her actions in service and love.

Anyone who knew Helen can attest to her delicious chicken and dumplings, her scrumptious homemade jelly, and the pride she took in her cooking. Her hobbies also included fishing, sewing, gardening, and canning – passions that reflected her love for nature and her practical ways. Above all, Helen enjoyed time spent with her son, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, celebrating precious family moments that will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband: Hairl Don Brittingham; parents: Dee and Emma; and siblings: Hazel Yuille, Lois Hoyer, Madeline Jacobs, George "Bud" Mays, and Mary "Jackie" Harper.

Helen's love and legacy lives on through her son: Michael Brittingham and Rhonda Dennis of Moyers; her grandchildren: Amanda Miller and her husband Mark of Bartlesville, and Matt Brittingham and his spouse Cathy of Antlers; her great-grandchildren: Bristol Brittingham, Rowan Brittingham, Karstyn Brittingham, Saylor Gregory, and Adlei Gregory; special niece: Arlene Jacobs;  and a dear friend: Bryan Watson.

The family wishes to extend their deepest thanks to Jennifer Ellis, Hailey Roland, Jennifer Morris, Arletta Hopson, Miranda Bates, all the caretakers at A Path of Care Hospice, and Dr Ted Rowland and all of the Pushmataha Hospital Staff.
