Helen Parker Obituary
Helen “Genene” Parker, age 81, passed away on June 5, 2021 in Tulsa, OK. She was born June 21, 1939 to Thomas Coleman and Pelpenea Augusta Brittingham.
She was a dedicated member of the Unity Baptist Church in Hugo, OK, and was dearly loved by all.
At age 50, she attended college in Wilburton for two years. She retired from Walmart in Hugo. While living in Hugo, she made a lot of wonderful friends! She enjoyed doing puzzles and spending time with the residents of the Baptist Village Home. She also loved working puzzles at home and to go walking with her friends. Fishing was also one of her favorite hobbies.
She decided she wanted to be closer to her son, daughter in law and grandchildren so she made the move to McAlester last year.
Genene is preceded in death by her parents: Thomas and Pelpenea Brittingham; five brothers: Buster, John Frank, Floyd, Billy Joe, and Hairl Don; one sister: Lois (Harden) Murray; and nephew: Winston Harden.
She is survived by her son: Mitchell Parker and wife Sarah, and their children of Crowder; one brother: Rogo Brittingham and wife Patsy of Moyers; one sister: Betty June and husband Wallan McKnight of Moyers; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends. She will greatly missed by all of us.
Services for Genene will be held on Monday, June 14, 2021 at 10AM at Moyers Baptist Church.
