Ima Jean (Hunt-Henson) White, 84, passed from this life on February 17, 2021 in Antlers, Oklahoma. She was born to Benjamin Franklin Hunt and Annie Beatrice Grace-Hunt in Weslaco County, Texas on April 19, 1936.
Ima Jean married Delbert Gene White on October 13, 1962 in Hugo, Oklahoma and they spent many wonderful years raising their family together before his passing. For 18 years, she was a valuable part of the Pushmataha Hospital. Ima Jean enjoyed gardening, flowers, feeding and watching her birds and squirrels, embroidery, working puzzles, and trying her luck at scratch off tickets. She was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars and was of the Baptist faith.
Ima Jean is preceded in death by her husband: Delbert Gene White; long time companion: Charlie Carter; parents: Benjamin Franklin Hunt and Annie Beatrice Grace- Hunt; children: Robert Timothy White, Terry John White, Franky Lee Dunlap, and Deborah Ann White; step-children: Tony White, Leon White, Douglas White, Joseph White; brothers: Elwood Culbert, J.E. Henson, and Clyde Culbert; sisters: Barbara Ann Golley, Frances Cooper, Mary Brown, Helen Bostic, Tiny (Tina Lynn) Greenwood, and Margaret Peterson.
She is survived by her children: Melinda Young and husband Leroy of Antlers, Larry White of Del City, OK, Billy White and wife Carol of El Paso, TX, Mayola Dunlap of Moore, OK, Brenda Anderson and Tommy Beck of Milburn, OK, and Judy Dunlap of Clayton, OK; step-children: James Edward White of Oklahoma City, OK, Janice Dunlap and husband Bobby of Cloudy, OK, Jessie Miller of Antlers, OK, Tommy White, Telmer White of Antlers, OK, Roy White of Antlers, OK, and Aline White of Oklahoma City, OK; grandchildren: Justin Brown, Joshua Brown, Rayna Little, Trevor Holliday, Becky Sisk, Clint Walker, Brent Walker, Jennifer Celaya, Eddy White, Christen White, Ashley White, Sylisa Wilson, Brandon Wilson, Rooker Wilson, Chris Smith, and Annie Smith; as well as numerous step-grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
Services for Ima Jean will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at 2PM at the Serenity Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Larry Crawford officiating. Interment will follow at Darwin Cemetery. A family night will take place on Monday, February 22, 2021 from 6-7PM at Serenity Funeral Service.
Pallbearers include Troy Reed, Eddie Henson, Joseph Wayman, Lee Wayman, Buddy Savage, and Eugene Wayman. Honorary pallbearers are Tommy Beck, Lynn Shackleford, Mark Jobe, Tim Spann, in remembrance of Jimmy Freeman.
