Imogene McArthur passed away in the comfort of her home in Antlers, OK, on July 22, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on September 5, 1933, in Wilson, Oklahoma, Imogene was the cherished daughter of the late Lynn and Lorene Ellis. She married her husband, Billy Rufus McArthur in May of 1952.
Imogene worked diligently at Nichols Casing Crew in Fairview and Elk City for many years. She eventually moved to Antlers where she touched the lives of many as a cook at Antlers Manor Nursing Home for over 30 years alongside her cherished best friend, Norma Whiteside. Imogene was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Billy Rufus McArthur; parents: Lynn and Lorene Ellis; and siblings: Kermit Ellis, Oral Ellis, and Lucille Kirby.
She is survived by her children: Billy McArthur of Antlers, OK, who was her caretaker in her later years, and Patti Hatcher and husband Dewey John of Antlers; brother: Ray Clark; grandchildren: Jarod Hatcher and wife Brandi of Tushka, Lindsey Hatcher of Antlers, OK, and Amber Johannesmeyer and husband Derek of Okeene, OK; and great-grandchildren: Preslea Robertson and husband Kohl, Lara Hatcher, Charlea Hatcher, Violet Johannesmeyer, and Ivy Johannesmeyer; and great-great-granddaughter: Haylea Luann Robertson.
Services for Imogene will be held at the Serenity Funeral Service Chapel on Friday, July 25, 2025 at 10AM with Reverend Aaron Reed officiating. Interment will follow at Hall Cemetery. Pallbearers include: Jarod Hatcher, Lindsey Hatcher, Amber Johannesmeyer, Derek Johannesmeyer, Jim McArthur, Dusty Jordan, Chance McArthur, and Kevin Jordan.
