It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of James Browning Ellis, who entered into eternal rest on April 14, 2025 at the age of 36. James was born on September 1, 1988, in Antlers, Oklahoma, where he also took his final breath, encircled by the beauty of the land he cherished so dearly.

James was a true outdoorsman. Fishing, hunting, rodeoing, and riding horses weren't just hobbies; they were integral parts of his being. Known for his love of red dirt country music, James's love for music was only matched by his ability to crack a joke, ignite laughter, and lighten the hearts of those around him.

James had a strong will and hard-headed determination, and was a hard worker whose kind heart was felt by all. Above all else, he was an excellent father, who enjoyed playing with and teaching his children.

James leaves behind a loving family: his wife Cyriah of Antlers, OK; his three children Alexyss Johnson of Farmington, NM, Spur Ellis of Antlers, OK, and Sutton Ellis of Antlers, OK; his mother and stepfather: Rebecca and Philip Trujillo; his siblings: Jody Ellis, Ashton Pollock, Jerren Ellis, and Melissa Ferrari with her husband Donavan; his treasured nieces and nephews: Reign, Ava, Acelee, Jayde, and Bella.

He was preceded in death by his father: Jimmie Lee Ellis; and grandparents: Betty Ruth Hunt, L.C. Hunt, Jack O. Ellis, and Reatha Lue Freeman.

Kind-hearted and generous in every sense, James will be profoundly missed. His memory will be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of his family and the many friends who had the pleasure of accompanying him on his journey through life.

A memorial service will be held at 2PM on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at Serenity Funeral Service.
