James Elbert Hatcher, 80, went to be with his Lord and Savior, on January 22, 2022, in Antlers, Oklahoma. He was born March 30, 1941, in Antlers, Oklahoma, to John Austin and Oma (Frye) Hatcher.
He was a Christian man and a member of the West Side Baptist Church. In his earlier years, James liked playing softball. He was fond of watching westerns, and could always appreciate a good baseball game. James truly enjoyed working in the garden and at the "Place," in the horse lot. Above all else, James loved spending time with his family.
James is preceded in death by his parents: John and Oma Hatcher; wife: Effie Hatcher; three sisters; and one brother.
He leaves behind his children: James Hatcher and wife Bobbie of Gainesville, Texas and Don Hatcher of Antlers, Oklahoma; brothers: Dewey Hatcher of Antlers, Oklahoma, Bill Hatcher of Antlers, Oklahoma and Carl Hatcher of Antlers, Oklahoma; sisters: Naomi Blackford of Frederick, Oklahoma, Mary Lee White of Antlers, Oklahoma and Norma Jo Gaston of Union City, Tennessee; grandchildren: Ryne Hatcher and wife Vanessa of North Richland Hills, Texas; Seth Hatcher and wife Kellie of Sherman, Texas, Colby Hatcher of Antlers, Oklahoma, Kelsey Hatcher and Fiance Trenton Head of Fort Smith, Arkansas and Carlie Hatcher of Gainesville, Texas; five great grandchildren; as well as numerous other family members and a host of friends.
Funeral services for James Elbert Hatcher will be held at 1PM, Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at the Roundup Cowboy Church, in Antlers, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Dela Cemetery, in Antlers, Oklahoma.
