James Wyman Hobson passed away September 13, 2021 in Finley, Oklahoma. Wyman was born June 24, 1952 in Purcell, Oklahoma to Leroy Hobson and Louise Rinehart Hobson. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his two sisters, Brendal Jean Hobson and Phyllis Hobson Watson.
Wyman is survived by his wife, Dora McHargue Hobson, of Finley, his son, James Hobson, of Antlers, two granddaughters, Nikki Hobson and Brooke Hobson of Antlers, a sister, Melinda Grayson, of Round Rock, Texas, an uncle, Ron Rinehart, of Arlington, Texas, a niece, Marcelyn Landry, of Round Rock, Texas, two nephews, Christopher Watson of Oklahoma City and Kyle Williams of Round Rock, Texas, and many cousins.
Wyman graduated from Antlers High School in 1970 and attended O.S.U. He lived most of his life in Longview, Texas where he worked for American Electric Power. He retired three years ago and moved back to the Antlers area to be near to his grandchildren. Wyman enjoyed spending time in nature. He fished occasionally and enjoyed the quietness and his view of the stars from his home in Finley. He had lifelong friends he had met during his school days. He enjoyed visiting with friends and family and reminiscing and having a good laugh. He often spoke about the “genuinely friendly people “ of Antlers.
