James David Nelson, known to all as David, was born on February 1, 1955, in Cloudy, OK and passed away on August 13, 2023, in Rufe, OK. He spent his life embodying the values of hard work and wisdom that those close to him appreciated.

David's professional capabilities were marked by his work as an oil field pipe fitter. His love for the outdoors was manifested in his interest in horseback riding, and his primary joy was being a cowboy and a loving grandpa.

He is predeceased by his parents Willie and Helen Nelson, brother Virgil Nelson, and sister Francis Self.

David is remembered by his immediate family: his wife Connie (Cunningham) Nelson; children: Colby Nelson, and Tandy Dockray; brother: Al Nelson; sisters: Norma McDonald and Debbie Nelson; and grandchildren Taelyn Nelson, Talynn Dockray, Jasper Koe Nelson, and Jaysa Hinsley.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 18, 2023 at 10AM at Serenity Funeral Service in Antlers, OK with Brent Coffee officiating.
